Make your Paris party pop with a bachelorette boat trip
Ever seen The Hangover? Okay, you don’t have to take things quite that far, but your bachelorette party can — and should — be every bit as wild and decadent as anything the boys get up to.
Try this: you’re luxuriating on a giant floating palace replete with gardens, baths, vines and braziers. You savor the hedonistic delights of the city of love, tantalizing your taste buds with grapes, cheese, and wine as your boat rocks to the rhythm of scantily clad, well-muscled oarsmen.
Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. Caligula’s floating pleasure palaces were in Rome, Italy, not Paris, France, and they were bombed to bits during World War II. Plus those cute oarsmen? Slaves. 🤭
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a wild and original party with friends in Paris. The French capital is after all also a party town, and it has everything your friends need to throw a killer bachelorette party — pleasure boats included!
In this month’s blog post, we’re looking at:
- Why a private boat tour is a great way to celebrate your bachelorette party in Paris
- How to choose the right cruise to fit your needs
- What to consider before booking a private boat tour

Show up the boys with a bachelorette boat party
Caligula may have been a tyrant and a sadist. But he got 1 thing right — river parties are the best!
To organise a great bachelorette boat party in Paris, you’ve 2 options: big tourist boats and private boat tours. The big tourist boats are cheap. But you’ll have to share with a crowd of onlookers and there’s no guessing what they’ll make of a dancing party of bachelorettes.
Private boat tours are what we do at My Paris River. You get the boat to yourself and your friends. You can select from a range of itineraries and durations, or you can customize your trip to start and finish near your hotel, and take in all your must-see sights. (Fill in this contact form to let us know what your needs are.)
You can also bring your own drinks or have drinks delivered on board, while your favorite songs blast over the sound system to get you into full party mode. And all around you, an unobstructed 360° view of the Eiffel Tower, Hotel de Ville as well as all the other great sights of the city.
Caligula, eat your heart out!
What’s the best time for a boat party?
You can time your Paris boat trip however you like to fit in with your plans for your big night in the city. Say you grab an early evening trip. This makes a great pre-party warmup to get the group excited for the night ahead. (A boat trip in daylight is also a handy way to get in a little sightseeing and take a few snaps to reassure the groom-to-be that you didn’t just travel to France for wild partying.) 🤫
You can also book a night tour and make your river outing the main event. How cool is it to kick off your party at the foot of the Eiffel Tower as the city lights up for the evening, with music, drinks, and dancing as you drift through the heart of Paris?
Speaking of drinks — what goes up must come down. And after a night of drinking and dancing with friends, you may not feel in tiptop shape the next morning. Luckily for you, a day trip on the river is a great way to recover from a big night. What could be more relaxing than stretching out and letting the gentle lap of the river soothe away the night’s revels as the distant sounds, history and culture of the city wash over you?

Partying not your thing?
By now, you may be starting to imagine Paris as just another sleazy tourist destination overrun with marauding packs of bachelors and bachelorettes.
But remember that your bachelorette party can be whatever it needs to be. And Paris offers more than just parties. If your group is more interested in the monuments of Paris and the history behind the city, our private tours are also one of the best ways to get your fix of French culture. Our skippers are local Parisians who are happy to provide live-guided commentary that gives plenty of history — plus a few laughs — to remember your bachelorette boat party in Paris.

What to know before you book your bachelorette boat party
The exact price of our private boat tours depends on the duration, number of passengers, itinerary and any customized extras you want to add. We offer discounts for groups of more than 7 people.
Our pontoon boats can accommodate up to 12 passengers. If there are more than 12 people in your party, we can split the group between 2 boats cruising side-by-side. Don’t worry: we’ll organize lots of fun stop-offs and there will be plenty of chances to swap boats so everyone gets time to mingle with everyone else.
Once on our boats, you have 2 seating areas, each one around a central table. This gives you plenty of room to sit and chat, move around, pose for photos — and dance to your favorite music! (Make sure to bring your track list to play over our sound system.)
Last thing — if the weather is misbehaving or for any reason your group cannot make the trip, you can cancel or postpone your river outing. Full refunds are offered on cancellations made 96 hours ahead of time. You can also postpone with 48 hours’ notice, although be aware that alternate slots are subject to availability. If you’ve got any questions or special needs, fill in the contact form.
